Our digital challenge: Informing, thinking and freely deciding in the cyber era.
In the last twenty years, with the expansion of the Internet, the rise of social networks and the explosion of artificial intelligence, the information ecosystem has undergone a radical transformation. Every day we hear new words and concepts related to information and the digital world: infodemic, fake news, deep fakes, information bubbles, disinformation, information stress and digital detox, among others. All these phenomena are today, to a greater or lesser extent, part of our lives, and yet many of us are unaware, or do not know what to do or how to behave when faced with them. Digital and information literacy involves much more than learning to use technological tools.

Today, do we inform ourselves or let ourselves be informed? Do we think freely or do we unconsciously respond to digital stimuli? Are we truly masters of our future? This book aims to share with the reader the main tools that will allow them to become a consciously informed citizen, capable of having greater autonomy over their choices and decisions, and of understanding the profound transformations that the information ecosystem has gone through and how they are they affect the very foundations of our democracies.
